'TONIGHT', my first song, goes online- www.mymusicstream.com/nsymusic/ for the mp3 download
Tonight is a song that I wrote many years ago. When I first made it, it was just lyrics and a tune. It did'nt start off as a romantic number. I was living alone in Delhi when I made it, preparing for my MBBS entrance examinations, and there had been no water in my apartment for a while. The summer had just started to exert itself, and life was starting to get uncomfortable. After many desperate days, when the water finally started again, it felt wonderful to finally be able to take a shower(after many days of a limited trickle from the tap). Now, I'm not one to enjoy baths very much, but that night, that cool shower, in those hot days, was a blessing and I started singing about how, I've taken so many baths in life, but there was something special about tonight. When I was done, I realized I had just created what could be, a romantic song. And voila!!
Its a good song to sing, if you wanna impress a chick. Its simple to remember, easy to sing, and it makes a girl feel special(beleive me, I've used it a couple of times and it works). But it is, ultimately about a girl you've known for a long time. A girl who, you beleived, you knew everything about. But something about tonight just throws a new light onto her. Maybe its because of your long shared past, maybe a new found trust. May be its love. Whatever it is, there's something special.
The only person I really had that feeling with was my wife. I've had moments like these with her so many times over the years I've known her. So I dedicated this song to her. It was as if I had made it for fun, but it was waiting to come true. Like it was an unconscious wish or something. And it did.
The song lay dormant for all these years, until I recently discovered the use of software instruments on my macbook. Do note that I have an almost zero education in music. I tried my hand at piano, guitar, and drums, without being able to play any of them with any provice. But I love music and I slowly found a way to record music that I made, In multiple layers. It took me more than a month, with lots of challenges, and its a first effort, so I hope you can point out to me, and forgive the many glitches in the quality, and creation of the song. One thing is for certain though. There's more music coming from me, and its definitely going to be better with time and help.
